DESCRIPTION:  \n6 p.m. Jan. 22\, 2023\nScottsdale Center for the\nPerforming Arts\nTickets $18\, $36 and $54\nPurchase at the center’s box office or\nonline at scottsdaleperformingarts.org \n  \nMusicaNova Orchestra and ASU’s Center\nfor Jewish Studies present one man’s story\nof finding hope and love in an all-Jewish\norchestra as Nazi oppression accelerated in\n1930s Germany. \nThe evening begins with the movie Winter\nJourney\, based on classical radio host Martin\nGoldsmith’s book\, The Inextinguishable\nSymphony\, followed by a Q&A with Mr.\nGoldsmith. The orchestra performs the final\npiece the Jewish orchestra rehearsed: an\nironic slap at their oppressors\, Nielsen’s\nFourth Symphony powerfully proclaims that\n“music is life\, and like life\, inextinguishable.”\nLocal choirs join the orchestra for the\nfinale\, Sibelius’ magnificent Finlandia and its\nsoaring statement against tyranny. \nFree tickets have been reserved for Holocaust survivors and their drivers.\nTo reserve tickets\, please contact Tim Langille at Timothy.Langille@asu.edu or call\n(404) 750-7643
